Hematology is the medical field that diagnoses and treats disorders of the blood and lymphatic organs. Hematologists care for conditions involving red and white blood cells, platelets, haemoglobin and the clotting system, and they treat patients of all ages. Some blood disorders are found during routine tests, while others cause symptoms such as fatigue, easy bruising or frequent infections.
Diagnosis is based on detailed blood tests and, when needed, bone marrow examination. Treatment may range from medication and transfusions to chemotherapy and stem cell transplantation, depending on the condition. International patients in Turkey receive a coordinated plan together with long-term follow-up recommendations.
