Oral and maxillofacial radiology is a branch of dentistry specialising in imaging of the mouth, teeth, face and jaws. Accurate images support the diagnosis, treatment planning and follow-up of many dental and jaw conditions, from hidden decay to cysts and bone changes. Imaging is also used to detect conditions that cannot be seen during a routine clinical examination.
Modern digital imaging allows high-quality images with a low radiation dose. Radiologists interpret the findings and share detailed reports with dentists and surgeons, especially before implants and jaw surgery. In Turkey, these scans help patients start treatment with a well-prepared plan.
